Legend Home Corp. Experience

Under Construction
DISCLAIMER: This blog is not connected with Legend Homecorp. Legend Classic Homes LTD. Legend (fill in the blank). It is merely my story and my exprience with this builder and the horrors I have had to endure for buying one of their houses.

Welcome! This blog is dedicated to all who have had the unfortunate experience of buying a new
home only to find out it is full of defects and your builder refuses to act ethically and honestly.

MY STORY:
Before I went to closing I hired a home inspector to go through the Legend house I wanted to purchase. I vivedly remember him shaking his head and saying it is bad. He made a list of things that needed to be redone before move in and the rest he stated was warranty work. You may ask, why did I go to closing? Well, this builder had a good rating with the Better Business Bureau in Houston. I really believed that if the BBB said they were OK, THEY WERE OK. Well I am here to tell you in the beginning Legend did work with me fixing several of their mistakes. Of course I sometimes had to go over the head of they guy holding the clipboard because he would refuse to help, but nevertheless things were fixed. Mostly small things that did not mean much in terms of time of money to this company.
Fast forward almost 2 years later. This is my story.

Incredible Strange Things Happening to New Home
Houston Community NewspapersHomeowners increasingly face builder damages, neglect "There was defective caulking, large gaps in the bricks, the tub wasn't working properly, cracks in the ceiling and the dining room, water intrusion in the walls...," Kushner said. "Even my garage door wasn't installed properly and every time the wind blew, it would cause the security alarm to go off. I had to have someone come out and fix that problem. It was horrible." A closer inspection would reveal nearly every family heirloom and assorted clothing and shoes stored in her closet had fallen apart, leaving Kushner clueless as to the cause...Kushner has presented her case, from the Harris County Appraisal District to Rep. Corbin Van Arsdale to members of the statehouse all the way to Gov. Rick Perry. Read more...

It was at this time I started putting the bizarre pieces together. After I moved in things started to fall apart, anything that was glued came apart. Anything of a leather nature was ruined, BIZARRE!!! The damage was slow going so it took a while to realize it was happening because of a HOUSE DEFECT. What it was, I have no idea.
I met with Legend Homecorp. person Barbara Puskar who told me David Gipe area president was out of town but she would relay this to him when he came back from his trip. When I met with Mr. Gipe he "examined" the house and made a recommendation to call an engineer in. After testing was done Mr. Gipe visited me and here is where the bubble burst, the walls came tumbling down or just insulting the intelligence of the homeowner. Mr. Gipe scientifically explained how it was my marital status as a single person with no spouse or kids that caused the deterioration of my belongings. Explanation: When I walk in the house I let the humidity in and there is no one here to run in and out to let the humidity out. There you have it folks, and then one thinks...and I bought a house from these people.
